Team Abacus competing at The Power Tower Trio
GO TEAM ABACUS! Competing at ‘The Power Tower Trio’ Obel Tower – Sat 25th October 2014, CLIC Sargent Charity Event.
Team Abacus got together on Saturday morning to get our sweat on, to take on the challenge and raise money for a great cause!
The Power Tower Trio enabled Team Abacus to complete a 1000m static row, 5k static bike ride, and then power up all 28 floors of The Obel (Northern Ireland’s tallest building). In that order too!
There was a great atmosphere and with the competitiveness amongst us the energy was flowing high, we couldn’t resist not capturing the moments with our fellow team members flustered with the challenge!
Just to prove we all participated take a look at our timings:
- Alan and Cheryl, Team Relay: 17 mins 49 secs
- Justin, Individual : 16 mins 36 secs
- Mark, Individual: 19 mins 37 secs
- Simon, Individual: 19 mins 22 secs
- Richard, Individual: 17 mins 26 secs
The Power Tower Trio is set up by CLIC Sargent to raise money. This will facilitate to help children and young people with cancer, and their families, right here in Northern Ireland. All money raised will go to the Homes from Home Appeal to build two self catering properties beside the two main cancer treatment centres in Belfast to help ease the physical and financial pressures of childhood cancer.
We are proud to be in support and raise money for such a great cause. Now we have flavoured the event we are set to get involved next year and beat our training times; sweat bands and trainers at the ready!
GO TEAM ABACUS!
