Behavioural Interviews:
Behavioural interviews are used by companies to help them make assumptions about a candidate’s future behaviour and performance based on their past behaviour.
Behavioural Interviews as a style of interview is face to face; the typical question style that will be similar to “What you have done”
Examples of questions that could be asked could include:
- Have you gone above and beyond the call of duty? If so, how?
- Have you handled a difficult situation with a co-worker? How?
- Share an example of how you were able to motivate employees or co-workers.
Key Features
This style of interview benefits both the candidate and the interviewer. The candidate gets to demonstrate their past achievements and can reveal facts about what leadership skills they have or their ability to work well under pressure. The benefits for the interviewer would be that this style of interview gives them the chance to know the actual capabilities of the candidate as the answers for this style of questions cannot be fully rehearsed or lied about.
