The Role:

This role is to manage and execute all internal and external communication and PR activities through the development and implementation of innovative communication plans and initiatives in line with the core business objectives, brand values and strategy.

The successful candidate will deliver effective and consistent communications to key audiences: central office staff and retailers, as well as trade, business and consumer media. They will manage and deliver key retailer events such as Store of the Year, and consumer campaign events such as media launches. This is a divisional and cross functional role, with a Group-wide interface. The ideal candidate will be responsible for management of charity partner relationship and project activity along with specific CSR initiatives.

The Person:

  • 3rd level qualification with an emphasis on Communications, Marketing or PR.
  • Full driving licence with access to a car.
  • 5 years relevant experience, gained either in a public relations, communications or marketing environment.
  • Previous event management experience.
  • Experience of managing and liaising with external agencies.
  • Strong written language skills with an ability to customise communications to suit different audiences.
  • Ability to impact and influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • Structured, organised project management approach with consistent deadline adherence.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team member.
  • Commercial acumen, with a proven ability to drive business growth through communications


  • Membership of Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, the grocery retail sector.
  • Experience in corporate and crisis PR
