Abacus temporary staffing are delighted to be retained by our client a leading global law firm that seeks to appoint an onsite IT support office to support all staff within their modern Belfast facilities.

Why This Role

As the onsite IT Support Analysis, you will service a large team of professionals with all their desktop and mobile devices ensuing they always have full access. You will be responsible for ensuring each member of staff has live connectivity to all office equipment, troubleshooting issues, setting up of new users and be on hand to provide full 360 ICT Support.

It is essential that the successful applicant has excellent interpersonal skills and can engage with all team members and assist with their IT support needs.

The Role

This role will require the successful applicant to undertake the following duties:

  • Perform hands-on fixes, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, managing mobile devices, implementing file backups, and configuring applications.
  • Provide Tier 2 technical support for facilities such as video conferencing and audio-conferencing services.
  • Manage and participate in improvements as they relate to the on-site IT facilities and working environment.
  • Act as a point of contact for the organization’s information security management system.
  • Assists customers to work efficiently within the ISMS framework.
  • Test fixes to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
  • Perform post-resolution follow-ups to customer requests to ensure initial issue has been resolved
  • Evaluate documented resolutions and analyse trends for ways to prevent future problems.
  • Manage incoming requests from customers via both telephone and e-mail in a courteous manner.
  • Perform maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals.
  • Record, track, and document problem-solving processes, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
  • Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Perform software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution.
  • Acts as a back up to the IT Support Technician as appropriate.
  • Point of contact for Audio Visual SME for live meetings and events held onsite or at remote locations as requested.
  • Responsible for the maintenance AV equipment for live meetings and events.
  • Provides support and demonstrates expert knowledge for online webinar tools and applications.

Essential Specifications

  • Relevant undergraduate University degree (2:1 or above preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ working experience in a business environment providing onsite IT support
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening and asking probing questions as appropriate.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively priorities and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language to non-technical staff and end user
