Intro

Our client a Northern Ireland leading not for profit organisation seeks to appoint a Marketing communications Specialist to join their team within their head office in Belfast City centre. You will be presented with the opportunity to work for a leading local organisation that has been established in Northern Ireland for over 40 years and has helped over 25,000 people in our local community.

Why This Role

As the marketing and communication specialist you will work with the Head of Marketing and Communications and play a vital role in the designing and development of marketing concepts in line with the organisations strategic marketing plan ensuring all activities are in line with key corporate objectives.

The Role

The overall purpose of this role is to design and support on the delivery of marketing communication materials for both internal and external communication. You will be expected to provide specialist knowledge and expertise on key marketing areas in line with the following objectives:

  • Brand Management: deliver campaigns that have maximum effect on the external audiences, research potential PR stories to strengthen the organisations brand
  • Internal Communications: provide internal communication and advice on internal events and corporate updates to all staff
  • External communications: design and influence brochures, social media and website content, designing innovative ways to reach target market
  • Advertising and marketing
  • Public relations and Public affairs: working to build and establish the organisations reputation in the local market
  • Digital and social media marketing: develop and implement effective digital marketing campaigns that are in line with key departmental objectives
  • Website management: provide input into the design, maintenance and website content and act as the main point of contact for web agencies

As part of your role you will be required to work collaboratively across all business functions to create a strong marketing culture within the organisation, support new product launches, design and develop a programme of marketing activity and identify new and innovative ways of capturing the organisations target market.

Specifications

  • Working knowledge of Adobe packages specifically Acrobat Xpro and Adobe Creative suite in particular use of InDesign
  • Working knowledge of WordPress
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office including PowerPoint, word and excel
  • Copy writing and proof reading skills
  • Previous PR and Public Affairs
  • Excellent oral and written communication sills
  • Experience of general marketing communications
  • Agency management experience to assist in the day to day running of external service providers

Qualifications

  • A degree or third level qualification with membership of a recognised marketing professional body

OR

  • A relevant degree or third level qualification in a marketing or business related discipline

WITH

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a marketing communications environment whereby you undertook the following tasks:
    • Campaign Management
    • Experience of online and social media activity
    • Experience of digital and email marketing and a sold understanding of the principles and techniques used in this area
