Telephone Interviews

Telephone Interviews:

Telephone interviews are often referred to as the ‘pre-screening’interview, the reason behind this is that this is often the first step for interviews with multiple levels.

Telephone interviews allow the interviewer to see if the candidate is viable and also to find out the qualifications, communications skills and experience of the candidate without bringing them in for a face-to-face interview.

Tips for Telephone Interviews:

  • Pick a suitable place to conduct the interview
  • Refer to your notes
  • Have a glass of water nearby
  • Take Notes

Key Features:

This style of interview is cost effective for both the interviewer and the candidate. It saves the firm a lot of time as it can shortlist candidates for the next step in the interview through the telephone interview. It can also allow the candidate to feel more comfortable as it is usually a more relaxed approach without the pressures of face-to-face.
